Soft washing is a cleaning method which uses a combination of low water pressure with bleach or surfactants in order to effectively clean and remove microbes such as bacteria, mildew, algae and other organic stains from external areas of buildings and roofs. It is a different cleaning technique compared to power washing as it uses low water pressure (less than 500 PSI) and it is more suitable for the cleaning of asphalt roofs as it does not cause any damage to the shingles. Soft washing is using an electric agricultural sprayer to apply a water-based, biodegradable disinfecting cleaning solution to kill the mold, mildew, bacteria, algae, fungus, moss and more on exterior home and building surfaces.

Soft washing is an eco-friendly solution and thanks to its low pressure, it will not strip protective coatings from your building’s exterior and it is mostly suitable for the cleaning of soft surfaces such as outdoor rooted plants, cedar shake siding, vinyl siding, wood panel siding, outdoor wood furniture, stucco and coquina and screens, enclosures, and lanais. In addition, for better results the soft washing process can be combined with pressure washing and the cleaning can be divided into two different phases. The first phase will involve the cleaning of all hard surfaces with the pressure washing process while the second phase will involve the changing out of cleaning solution and nozzle for the rest of the home.
